Job Summary
Long Term Substitute-Special Education Teacher responsibilities include providing direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities, collaborating with general education teachers, and developing and implementing Individual Education Programs (IEPs). The role involves preparing for IEP team meetings, conducting data-driven instructional decisions, administering and interpreting assessments, supervising special education aides, planning evidence-based interventions, ensuring compliance with regulations, completing required paperwork, and participating in professional development to enhance instructional practices for students with disabilities. Must hold a Bachelor's in Special Education and a Massachusetts license in Moderate Disabilities, and be capable of working within the Scituate Public Schools system for the 12-week term (SY26-27).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Special Education
- Massachusetts Educator’s License (Moderate Disabilities in assigned level)
- Expertise with behavior management
- Expertise with curriculum modification and differentiated instructional practices
- Knowledge of the requirements of state and federal regulations
- Proficiency in educational diagnostic and prescriptive testing
- Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment
