Job Summary

Design and implement effective instruction for students with diverse learning disabilities, cognitive disorders, and autism spectrum disorder in accordance with Individualized Education Programs. Assess eligibility, develop IEPs, and monitor student progress while coordinating classroom activities and schedules for multiple learners. Collaborate with general educators, related service providers, and teaching assistants to provide specialized instruction and inclusion opportunities as specified in student plans. Work with parents to support student needs and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations. Cover a long-term substitute role from October through December 2026.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in Special Education
  • Massachusetts Licensure as a Teacher of Special Education (Moderate or Severe Disabilities)
  • Licensure in ESL
  • Ability to coordinate classroom instruction for multiple learners with diverse learning styles
  • Proven ability to coordinate the efforts of classroom teachers, teacher assistants, and other related specialists
  • Knowledge of multiple formal and informal assessment tools and methods
  • Skill in interacting with parents of students in class
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Training in Trauma Sensitive practices
  • Experience working with students who have a variety of learning disabilities, cognitive and intellectual disabilities, social and emotional disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorder
  • Long Term Substitute - October-December
