Job Summary
Long-term substitute School Nurse (RN) for the 2026/2027 school year in Essex Junction, Vermont. Provide direct nursing care to students, assess and respond to illnesses and injuries, support student wellness and preventative care, respond to emergencies within the school, collaborate with teachers and support staff, and maintain confidential student health records. Requires an active RN license (Vermont or eligibility to obtain Vermont licensure) with eligibility for Vermont Educator License – School Nurse Endorsement; Bachelor’s degree preferred and 1–3 years of nursing experience preferred. This per-diem/substitute assignment runs August–October 2026 with potential for continuation based on availability.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Vermont or eligibility to obtain Vermont licensure)
- Eligibility for Vermont Educator License – School Nurse Endorsement (3-65)
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1–3 years of nursing experience preferred
- Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, public health, or youth-focused settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
