Job Summary
Long-Term Substitute School Adjustment Counselor at Shawsheen Valley Technical High School within the Student Support Services (Special Education) department, September 1, 2026 to November 24, 2026. Provides direct counseling to high school students with IEPs, supports social-emotional development and coping skills, collaborates with special education staff, general education teachers, administrators, and families, and participates in IEP Team meetings and annual reviews. Responsible for monitoring progress toward IEP counseling goals, developing progress reports, consulting on behavioral and classroom interventions, maintaining case documentation, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in School Counseling, School Adjustment Counseling, Social Work, or related field
- Appropriate Massachusetts licensure (e.g., School Adjustment Counselor/School Social Worker)
- Experience working with high school-aged students and students with disabilities
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress reporting
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills
