Job Summary
Teach standards-based music education to students in grades PreK-5 at Bentley Academy Innovation School within Salem Public Schools. Responsibilities include developing and implementing unit plans with a focus on student mastery, monitoring progress using formative and summative assessments, scaffolding instruction, and providing feedback for improvement. Responsibilities also include planning/operating a balanced chorus and general music program, providing individualized and small group instruction, selecting diverse music literature, maintaining school-owned instruments, assessing musical growth, collaborating with other music teachers for vertical alignment, teaching chorus and general music, creating a positive classroom environment, selecting instructional materials, and coordinating musical programs for assemblies and parent meetings. Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree and Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Music, 185-day work year, and current work authorization in the United States.
