Job Summary
Facilitate academic English language skill development for Multilingual Learners using strength-based approaches aligned with WIDA ELD standards and DESE benchmarks. Manage assessments, monitor opt-outs and Former English Learner status, and coordinate home language surveys for new enrollments. Design differentiated instruction across content areas, provide pullout small group lessons, and offer inclusion support in classroom settings. Maintain accurate records for district and state auditors, translate informational documents for families, and communicate regularly with parents and staff. Begin October 2026 for up to twelve weeks; long-term rate of $260/day after ten consecutive days.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Licensed, or eligible for licensure as an Academic Teacher in the field of English as a Second Language by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- possession of the SEI certification with Teacher endorsement
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills both orally and in writing
- Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies
- Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of required background checks, including SAFIS CHRI (federal fingerprint-based) and CORI (state) reports
