Job Summary
Long-term Substitute Instrumental Music Teacher tasked with developing and leading a comprehensive instrumental music program for middle school students. Responsibilities include designing a standards-based curriculum, teaching instrumental techniques, music theory and sight-reading, directing school ensembles, preparing students for performances, fostering growth in musicianship, discipline, and collaboration, differentiating instruction, maintaining instruments and rehearsal spaces, collaborating on school-wide events, and participating in faculty meetings and professional development.
Required Qualifications
- NJDOE certification in Music Education (K–12 or appropriate certification) preferred
- Proficiency in instrumental music instruction
- Experience working with middle school students preferred
- Ability to direct ensembles and organize performances
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
