Job Summary

Plan and provide appropriate learning experiences for students while maintaining an environment conducive to their intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development. Supervise students in various school settings, monitor and evaluate student outcomes, and develop instructional plans to meet diverse needs. Administer student assessments, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with parents, staff, and the community. Support the implementation of the comprehensive arts program, prepare students for performances, and coordinate fine arts enrichment activities. Adhere to the Rhode Island Educator Code of Professional Responsibility and take necessary safety precautions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university
  • Certificate by the Rhode Island State Department of Education
  • Current Rhode Island Teacher Certificate in the appropriate subject area and level required
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, test data, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts
  • Ability to utilize current technology for communication, data analysis, and access to research and instruction
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and school committee policies
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC-based computer applications, Google Suite, Microsoft Office applications, e-mail, Web applications, and industry-specific technology
