Job Summary
Design, develop, and deliver curriculum and instructional programs aligned with the SLCS mission, establishing clear objectives for lessons and projects. Create engaging classroom environments that promote inquiry-based learning and meaningful discussion while implementing management procedures to support effective instruction. Use authentic assessments to evaluate student outcomes, maintain accurate gradebooks and records per legal requirements, and provide timely progress reports. Collaborate with staff to address diverse learning styles and participate in Back-to-School Night, parent-teacher conferences, and unit exhibitions. This three-to-four-month substitute role begins August 24, 2026, requiring a Bachelor's degree in Education and valid Pennsylvania PK-4 certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
- Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education certification in Grades PK-4 or Elementary K-6
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to inclusive learning practices
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Strong research, planning, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students to support their development
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google tools
- Ability to establish that you are authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of criminal, child abuse, and FBI background checks
- Successful completion of reference checks
- Successful completion of required drug testing
