Job Summary
Assist teachers and students in daily classroom activities by conducting lessons, managing the environment, and supervising seat work. Provide instructional and behavioral support to individual or small groups of students while reinforcing instruction as directed. Administer and score tests based on student performance, distribute supplies, and set up work areas. Act as a nurturing influence during lessons and supervise students outside the classroom for drills and assemblies. Support substitute teachers by providing classroom routine information during absences. Complete administrative tasks and other duties assigned by the teacher or administrator. This role runs from October 2 through December 18.
Required Qualifications
- Completed two years of study at an institution of higher education
- Obtained an associate's (or higher) degree
- Met a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate, through a formal State or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics (or, as appropriate, reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness)
