Job Summary
Provide daily instruction for students in accordance with the Board approved curriculum; develop and maintain lesson plans aligned to IEPs and district standards; implement state core curriculum and district goals through differentiated instruction; employ a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs; assess student progress using multiple methods; maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment; collaborate with colleagues and participate in school planning and professional development; effectively communicate with parents and district staff; utilize technology tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, Frontline, and Genesis SIS.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching methods
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Planning and Curriculum Development
- Teach in accordance with the curriculum
- Develop and maintain lesson plans and instructional materials
- Set specific objectives in lesson preparation
- Plan class activities and lesson presentations
- Participate with other staff members
- Incorporate requirements in a student's IEP and IEP processes
- Keeps current in subject matter knowledge and learning theory
- Assist in curriculum revision
- Shows evidence of planning upon request
- Instructional Process: promote active learning
- Create a conducive classroom environment using diverse teaching strategies
- Differentiate instructional techniques as needed
- Identify student needs and provide engaging instruction
- Provide required accommodations and services per IEP
- Maintain records of student progress
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction
- Respect confidentiality of records
- Communicate with parents and participate in school community
- Perform other duties as assigned
