Job Summary
Long Term English Substitute Teacher needed at West Michigan Aviation Academy to implement lesson plans and manage classroom activities in line with the school’s curriculum, teaching reading, writing, literature, and language arts; monitor student performance through tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations; maintain attendance and performance records; collaborate with colleagues on school initiatives; participate in professional development and school events; maintain a safe, inclusive classroom and effective communication with students, parents, and staff; requires 60+ college and teaching certification/permit eligibility, with a Bachelor’s degree preferred; CPR/First Aid may be required; physical tasks include lifting up to 25 lbs and standing/walking regularly. Located in Grand Rapids, MI.
Required Qualifications
- 60+ college is required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field preferred
- Valid teaching certification, or eligibility to obtain a permit
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience in English is highly desirable
