Job Summary
Long Term Care Registered Nurse (LTC RN) at VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System. Provides comprehensive nursing care within the professional scope for geriatric patients; conducts initial assessments, develops care plans, coordinates with ancillary services, documents plans and care, educates patients and families, initiates discharge planning, administers oxygen and medications, titrates medications per VA policy, monitors clinical condition, initiates resuscitative measures, operates and monitors equipment (oxygen, PCA, IVs, suction, etc.), assigns nursing care, prepares for procedures and assists, ensures JCAHO standards are met, and maintains accurate medical records in VA guidelines. Requires BSN or ADN and active RN license, at least 1 year of RN experience in acute/long-term settings, BLS, ability to meet physical job demands; no sponsorship available. Locations: Ann Arbor, MI.
Required Qualifications
- Holds a BSN or ADN in Nursing from an accredited program, college, or university and holds a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in any State.
- Has been practicing actively as an RN in an acute or long-term setting for at least the last one (1) year.
- Is capable of providing complex and comprehensive nursing care for adult medical and surgical patients.
- Has and maintains current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)

- All candidates must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift; lift up to 50 lbs; lift up to 20 lbs; carry up to 40 lbs; push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
