Job Summary

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Safely transfer, ambulate, and reposition residents using mechanical lifts and gait belts while monitoring vital signs and reporting changes in condition. Respond promptly to call lights, provide incontinence care, and maintain clean rooms and care areas. Accurately document resident care, follow infection prevention practices, and adhere to fall prevention and emergency procedures. Communicate professionally with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification/status meeting applicable New Mexico requirements
  • Certification must remain active and in good standing as required for employment
  • Compassionate and respectful approach to caring for older adults and residents with varying physical and cognitive needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to observe and appropriately report changes in resident condition
  • Ability to follow individualized care plans, nursing instructions, and established safety procedures
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Dependable attendance and commitment to assigned schedules
  • Ability to prioritize resident needs in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, high-quality, person-centered care
  • Ability to assist residents with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, mobility, and activities of daily living
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move residents or equipment using appropriate assistance and mechanical devices when required
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform resident-care activities for extended periods
  • Ability to safely operate resident transfer and mobility equipment following appropriate training
  • Ability to respond promptly and effectively to resident needs and emergency situations
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, assisted living, or another healthcare setting
