Job Summary

Design long hole design packages, loading and blasting letters, stope mucking prints, and backfilling prints to support safe mine development and production targets. Conduct regular underground tours to inspect drilling and loading locations, ensuring compliance with plans while adhering to site safety guidelines. Generate weekly rolling forecasts and update iMOS software with approved data to guide crew line-ups and track drilling progress. Collaborate with Operations, Geology, Ventilation, and Geotechnical departments to ensure designs remain practical and compliant with legislative requirements. Produce standard operating procedures for design generations and support stope reconciliation analysis for continuous improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • A B.Sc Mining Engineering, mine technician, mine technologist or equivalent industrial experience
  • P.Eng. certification or ability to gain P.Eng.
  • 2-4 years experience with conventional and mechanized underground mining methods
  • exposure to long hole stoping of narrow veins
  • Advanced competence in the use of Deswik UGDB for long hole designs, loading packages and blast letters
  • Strong knowledge of underground mining KPIs and data intergrity
  • Smart problem-solving techniques
  • 3D visualization skills
  • Must be willing to produce a criminal background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol test
