Job Summary

Operate and maintain machinery for loading and unloading ethanol, wet and dry distillers, and corn. Safely weigh and grade raw materials and final products, ensuring grain meets purchase contract specifications. Manage railcar and truck logistics while completing all shipment records and maintaining rolling stock through fluid checks, greasing, and defect inspections. Communicate with maintenance, production, and operations departments to coordinate equipment status and product unloading. Enter customer and product data into grain receiving software, track process chemicals, and review COAs against facility standards. Keep the plant tour-ready and scale areas clean, while participating in safety programs and training.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be hard-working and self-motivated
  • Ability to greet customers in a friendly manner
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff (co-workers and management)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office software skills
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable regulatory state and USDA requirements
  • Previous experience in grain receiving and grading
  • Detail-oriented
  • Proficiency for accuracy

  • Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assigned projects
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience in industrial production plants helpful
  • Maintaining a thorough understanding of applicable regulatory requirements of FRA, TTB and state regulations
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job includes but not limited to: frequent sitting, standing, frequent computer use; frequent telephone use; some lifting or moving up to 10 lbs
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (Hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis and be able to maintain ongoing work authorization without employer sponsorship now or in the future
  • All potential employees of Green Plains Inc. will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check prior to employment
