Logistics Specialist

Job Summary
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, arrange transportation with carriers, and monitor status to resolve issues proactively. Develop market intelligence, negotiate strategic agreements, and optimize freight costs while ensuring customs compliance and border clearance. Collaborate with purchasing, production, and customer service teams to expedite critical shipments and maintain accurate logistics records. Track key metrics including on-time delivery and carrier performance to generate reports and recommend process improvements. Manage multi-location operations and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain competitiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- 3–5 years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with QAD or other ERP systems
- Understanding of domestic and international shipping regulations, HTS codes, US tariff norms
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data analysis)
- Should have experience in managing shipments from Asia and Europe into the US
