Job Summary
Coordinate goods shipped from origin to destination by conducting calls with carriers to determine driver availability and negotiate transportation rates. Direct drivers with pick-up and delivery locations while ensuring specific customer load requirements are met on committed and transactional shipments. Maintain and grow relationships with carrier accounts to identify additional revenue opportunities, assist with developing invoicing data, and coordinate information with accounts payable. Provide exceptional service to contracted carriers and internal customers under appropriate supervision with latitude for independent judgment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Be knowledgeable with regard to transportation industry
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with computers is helpful, including knowledge of Excel and Access programs
