Job Summary
Manage a sales team to secure, build, and maintain customer relationships while implementing revenue growth plans and pricing reviews. Lead inside sales development efforts, convert inbound prospect calls, and drive outbound follow-ups with existing and potential clients. Oversee employee performance using SMART goals, coaching, and progressive discipline, while partnering with HR to handle recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training. Monitor sales pipelines and activity metrics to ensure alignment with company values and core competencies. This full-time role requires occasional overnight travel and may involve work outside normal hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
- 2-3 years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience in the transportation and logistics industry
- Basic knowledge of budgeting, forecasting sales, profit & loss statements and accounting
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to establish trust and rapport with all levels of staff
- Able to relate effectively to diverse cultures
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills (written, listening and verbal)
- Ability to negotiate skillfully in challenging situations with both internal and external customers
- Strong planning and problem-solving skills; able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook) and the internet (social media, internet database and research tools
- Willing and able to travel occasionally, including overnight travel
Desired Qualifications
- One to two years of supervisory experience preferred
- Strong employee performance management, training and coaching, recognition, and reward skills preferred
