Job Summary
Lead terminal operations by supervising daily loading, unloading, sorting, and dock activities while managing seven independent contractor routes. Conduct driver negotiations and enter tentative agreements under Terminal Manager oversight, ensuring strict adherence to DOT, safety, and environmental regulations. Foster team accountability among supervisors, warehouse staff, and drivers while maintaining facility cleanliness, optimizing labor and fleet utilization, and controlling operational expenses. Prepare regular reports on productivity and KPIs for senior leadership, resolve customer inquiries regarding overages and damages, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency. Occasionally operate emergency delivery routes to ensure service continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership or a related logistics role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations
- Proficiency in using logistics and inventory management software
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements in the logistics industry
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Contract negotiation experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications
- Availability to work flexible hours as needed
