Job Summary
Lead terminal operations by supervising daily loading, unloading, sorting, and inventory management while overseeing seven independent contractor routes. Conduct driver negotiations and enter tentative agreements under Terminal Manager approval, ensuring strict adherence to DOT, safety, and environmental regulations. Manage labor, equipment, and fleet utilization to optimize productivity, prepare operational reports for leadership, and address customer inquiries regarding overages, shortages, and damages. Maintain facility cleanliness and security while identifying cost-saving opportunities to meet budgetary goals. Work Monday through Friday from 1:30am to 11:30am with occasional Saturday requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in a leadership or a related logistics role
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations
- Proficiency in using logistics and inventory management software
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements in the logistics industry
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
- Contract negotiation experience
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications
- Availability to work flexible hours as needed
