Job Summary
Oversee daily shipping operations, warehouse transfers, and logistics personnel at a manufacturing facility by coordinating outbound shipments, managing loading activities, and supervising transfer drivers. Partner with plant leadership and customer service to develop daily shipping schedules, verify documentation including bills of lading, and reconcile records within the ERP system. Monitor inventory levels and production status to adjust shipping priorities, ensuring loads are completed accurately, on time, and compliant with customer requirements. Supervise a team of truck loaders and transfer drivers while promoting safe work practices and continuous improvement. Serve as backup for the Plant Manager during absences, including occasional weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of logistics, warehouse, transportation, or shipping management experience
- Previous experience leading teams with multiple direct reports
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional recordkeeping and documentation skills
- Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to quickly learn new software and business processes
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Manufacturing or industrial distribution experience
- Knowledge of shipping documentation, bills of lading, inventory reconciliation, and transportation logistics
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams including operations, customer service, transportation, and quality
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems and shipping software (Microsoft Dynamics, TMW, or similar platforms preferred)
