Job Summary

Manage end-to-end domestic and international shipping operations for controlled and hazardous materials, including lithium batteries and ITAR-restricted items, across air, ocean, and ground networks. Oversee packaging, labeling, and documentation for dangerous goods in accordance with IATA, IMDG, and 49 CFR regulations while ensuring compliance with export controls like ITAR and EAR. Maintain relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to secure reliable transportation, and develop standard operating procedures for shipping, receiving, and customs workflows. Build audit-ready documentation systems supporting DFARS, DPAS, and AS9100 standards, and utilize NetSuite to prioritize orders based on contractual commitments and export clearance requirements. Partner with Supply Chain, Production, Legal, and Engineering teams to align logistics with customer delivery needs and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, scalability, and cost optimization.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management, with significant experience supporting international and dangerous goods shipments
  • Strong working knowledge of IATA, IMDG, 49 CFR, ITAR, EAR, customs regulations, and international trade compliance requirements
  • Experience preparing and reviewing export documentation, including commercial invoices, shipper's declarations, AES filings, certificates of origin, and related customs documentation
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing logistics processes, SOPs, training programs, and compliance documentation
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Extensive experience working/relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, etc
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience utilizing data to drive operational improvements
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with large datasets
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational execution in a fast-paced environment
