Job Summary
Directs daily distribution activities including shipping, receiving, and inventory control while generating productivity reports on selection and receiving rates. Manages warehouse operations to ensure material availability for production schedules, oversees vendor deliveries, and maintains equipment through preventive maintenance programs. Leads continuous improvement initiatives for logistics processes, demand management, and storage layouts while ensuring compliance with OSHA safety regulations. Coordinates with senior management on planning strategies, inventory management, and cost reduction projects, and builds relationships with strategic customers to resolve operational issues. Recruits and retains a qualified workforce through appropriate HR strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 9 years of distribution, warehousing or equivalent experience
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete recognizing of the function and those of related businesses
