Logistics Management Specialist

Job Summary

Research, organize, plan, and administer day-to-day provisioning, spares, and maintenance/repair activities for moderate-scope programs. Develop logistics plans to enhance distribution, identify and assess key assets, and conduct distribution and network studies to achieve desired delivery times. Prepare and utilize databases for cost analysis and financial management while researching contractual documents and technical data to determine requirements. Assist in developing policies and procedures for quality and cost control, and make recommendations to customers regarding standards and requirements. This 100% in-office role supports the Missile Sustainment Division for the Air Launched Cruise Missile System Program Office. Candidates must hold a Secret clearance and possess expertise in depot and field maintenance, Performance Work Statements, and risk management.

Required Qualifications

  • 100% in office in an embedded role inside the program office
  • interfacing with government and contractor personnel
  • Bachelors' Degree OR minimum of five (5) years' experience in multiple areas of military related acquisition, sustainment logistics or program management
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Use of MS Office Suite; specifically, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Must apply expertise in DOD, Agency, and/or industry standards and engineering requirements
  • Must be knowledgeable in depot and field maintenance and supportability concepts
  • Must be knowledgeable in Performance Work Statements (PWS)
  • Must be knowledgeable in Statements of Work (SOW)
  • Must be knowledgeable in Data Items Descriptions (DIDs)
  • Must be knowledgeable in test procedures and plans
  • Must be knowledgeable in obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS)
  • Must be knowledgeable in risk management
  • Must be knowledgeable in end item delivery and installation
  • Must have the ability to multi-task
  • Must provide clear and well-organized verbal and written communication
  • Must be able to problem solve
  • Must be able to think critically and creatively
  • Must be able to advise management
  • Must be able to use database software to find records, sort, review, edit, print, and other functions
  • Must be able to use built-in forms and reports in a database
  • Must be able to explore software applications and learn various functions and features
  • Must be able to write queries and reports using available tools
  • Must be able to copy data into Excel or other formats for further analysis
  • Must be able to use computer applications in support of planning, designing, analysis, and reporting
  • Must be knowledgeable of many logistics concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials
  • Must be knowledgeable of logistics issues and best practices sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of aerospace systems or devices
  • Must be knowledgeable of logistics practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, supply chain, manpower, funding, production and maintenance management principles, concepts, policies, and systems

Desired Qualifications

  • USAF Equipment Specialist expertise
  • Knowledge and experience with developing life cycle logistics strategies to include initiating, reviewing, developing, and implementing activities to accomplish service life extensions and execution of test and evaluation
  • Knowledge and experience serving as a program manager of acquisition programs to include responsibilities regarding cost, schedule, technical, and performance
  • Knowledge and experience with utilizing DoD and USAF weapon system, logistics, supply and/or maintenance systems
  • Certified APDP Level II or III in Life Cycle Logistics or industry equivalent, within the past five years
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in managing and executing program management and/or logistics Acquisition Category (ACAT) III acquisition programs or Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) programs
  • Master's degree and/or relevant DoD Military Service Professional Military Education (PME)
  • Knowledge of Tinker AFB and its mission
  • USAF System Program Office experience and/or aircraft experience
