Job Summary

Oversee both inbound and outbound shipping operations in a fast-paced refrigerated produce warehouse, lead dock staff and coordinate logistics to ensure accurate order fulfillment, temperature-controlled loading, and on-time shipment; train and mentor team members on safety, efficiency, and procedures; monitor food safety and quality standards (HACCP, GMP, cold chain); manage temporary staff, ensure proper labeling, recaps, and documentation; utilize WMS and RF scanners, activate sortation systems, and maintain recap documentation in internal systems; address bottlenecks, production issues, and continuous process improvements, while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards; requires leadership experience, detail-oriented problem solving, and strong collaboration across teams to sustain efficient warehouse operations.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2-3+ years of warehouse shipping/logistics experience (produce preferred)
  • Previous leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with WMS systems and RF scanners
  • Power industrial equipment (electric pallet jack, forklift, etc.) certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in refrigerated environments (34–40°F)
  • Flexibility for early mornings, nights, weekends, peak seasons, and holidays
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a Plus
  • Knowledge of produce quality standards and grading
  • Experience with cross-docking and high-volume distribution
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data tracking, reporting, and operational support
  • Mathematical and numerical skills, including data interpretation and accurate calculations
  • Sharp analytical abilities with high-level critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and proactive approach to resolving operational issues
  • Solid understanding of GMP
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and quality
  • Energetic and flexible team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • High level of initiative; thrives in both independent and team-based settings
  • Communicates effectively and establishes strong channels of communication with all relevant stakeholders
  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and rotating or varying shifts as business needs demand
  • This position requires constant work in a refrigerated environment with an average temperature of 41°F
