Job Summary
Logistics Engineer - Inbound at Volvo Cars seeks an execution-heavy, detail-oriented professional to manage day-to-day inbound, packaging and aftermarket transport within multimodal networks, ensuring on-time delivery, production stability, and KPI performance. The role interfaces with carriers, ports/terminals, plants, and internal logistics functions to monitor transport flows via road, rail, sea, and air, plan transport orders in line with production demand, handle deviations and urgent material situations, maintain transport data in TMS and IT tools, ensure customs and DG compliance, track delivery precision and carrier performance, and contribute to operational improvement initiatives. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering, proven logistics/transport execution experience (preferably international), hands-on multimodal transport experience, familiarity with inbound/outbound logistics, and proficiency with TMS tools. Fluent English and Slovak; strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a global environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering
- Proven experience in operational logistics or transport execution, preferably in an international environment
- Hands on experience with multimodal transport operations (road, rail, sea, and air freight)
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (e.g. Alpega TMS)
- Fluent in English, Slovak, both spoken and written
