Job Summary
Engineer end-to-end warehouse workflows for inbound, storage, picking, packing, and outbound operations, optimizing facility layouts, slotting strategies, and material flow to maximize space utilization. Leverage operational data and time studies to establish labor standards, staffing models, and capacity plans while conducting root-cause analysis to implement corrective actions for complex equipment and software issues. Lead capital, cost-reduction, and technology projects by developing technical specifications, scopes, budgets, and schedules for material-handling automation and operational systems integration. Based in central Reno, this role supports Arrow's distribution network across the Americas with a competitive hourly range of $87,900 to $137,500.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering (or technical field)
- 3–5 years of hands-on logistics and distribution engineering experience in high-volume warehouse/fulfillment environments
- Expertise in optimizing facility layouts, slotting, and material-handling automation (conveyors, AGVs, AMRs)
- Experience with time studies, labor standard development, and dynamic staffing models
- Proven track record leading capital, tech, and cost-reduction projects end-to-end—developing project scopes, specs, budgets, and SOWs while managing contractors, vendors, integrators, and cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in supporting and integrating Warehouse Management (WMS), Execution (WES), and Labor Management (LMS) systems
- Strong data analytics, MS Office, and reporting/visualization tools skills
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills
- Demonstrated safety-first approach to troubleshooting operational issues and driving continuous improvement
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field
- Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, Microsoft Project, Power BI, SQL, VBA, warehouse slotting software, or similar tools
- Experience with analytics or statistical tools such as Python, R, JMP, Minitab, or Toad
- Lean, Six Sigma, or project-management certification
