Job Summary
Drive and deliver products in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner for Carter Machinery. Responsibilities include loading/unloading, securing cargo with chains/binders, conducting pre/post/trip inspections, performing basic truck maintenance, maintaining logs, and demonstrating proper equipment operation to customers. The role requires operating heavy-haul/tractor configurations, training drivers as needed, and coordinating with the team to achieve continuous improvement while upholding core values of integrity, commitment, excellence and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- CDL A license
- Minimum of two years of CDL driving experience (heavy-haul and tractor/lowboy)
- Excellent driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of DOT and Company safety standards and regulations
- Ability to operate a 5 or 6 axle configuration truck
- Ability to conduct inspections of truck and ensure good working order
- Ability to secure cargo using chains/binders per regulations
- Mechanical aptitude for basic truck maintenance
- Knowledge of rental, construction, and generator equipment
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Willingness to work additional hours as required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to train drivers as needed
