Job Summary
Logistics Coordinator role at Veolia in St Leonards-on-Sea, UK. Plan and optimise daily artic and RoRo movements for fuel/mileage efficiency; monitor driver workloads via tracking software; supervise haulage team to maintain safe, compliant operations; manage ticketing, driver devices, and end-of-shift debriefs. Reconcile activity, support inductions and safety communications, implement contractor controls, investigate incidents, and provide proactive customer responses. Assist Logistics Manager with recruitment, onboarding, and engagement; contribute to performance/KPI delivery and uphold Veolia policies. 45-hour work week with 12-hour shifts; salary £35,921.25 per year plus 15% annual bonus; 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays; pension; wellbeing benefits; and inclusive culture.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in logistics/transport coordination, planning or fleet operations (haulage environment preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of safety, compliance and legal requirements within transport operations
- Confident using scheduling/tracking systems and digital ticketing tools; strong admin and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise, make decisions under pressure and manage changing plans in real time
- Clear communicator with a customer-focused approach (written and verbal)
- Experience handling incident reporting and investigations (or willingness to learn)
