Job Summary
Coordinate outbound shipments of poles and rail ties via truck and rail; schedule trucks and railcars to support shipping timelines and customer requirements; order, release, track, and manage railcar movements and related paperwork; prepare shipping documentation including bills of lading; enter shipment information into SAP and maintain freight/inventory records; collaborate with production to ensure on-time dispatch; monitor orders for potential delays; respond to customer/internal inquiries about deliveries and documentation; review carrier performance for service/cost improvements; support transportation needs during storm events with occasional on-call coverage; participate in yard inventory coordination and yard safety.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of relevant logistics or transportation experience
- Post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
- Experience coordinating truck and rail shipments required; rail logistics experience is a strong asset
- Experience with SAP and Power BI systems is an asset
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Valid Drivers license
