Job Summary

Coordinate and negotiate freight rates with transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments while monitoring outbound shipments to ensure orders are in transit as scheduled. Review purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy, prepare Bills of Ladings, and send finalized shipping documents to billing. Enter receivers and manifests of material from steel mills via Rail or Truck, manage a shipping schedule to accurately show sales and billing daily shipments, and ensure traffic flow through the warehouse is working. Communicate any issues, delays, or budget restraints with the sales team and develop processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in a Logistics related field
  • Knowledge using computers and other common office equipment
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend, in English
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Close vision
  • Distance vision
  • Depth perception
  • Ability to adjust focus
