Job Summary
Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of aerospace parts, assemblies, tooling, equipment, and marketing materials by scheduling freight with carriers and third-party logistics providers. Package, palletize, label, and prepare shipments while ensuring compliance with ITAR, EAR, FAA, DOT, IATA, and other applicable regulations. Prepare shipping documentation including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and export declarations, then track deliveries and resolve transportation issues. Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records within ERP/MRP systems to support reporting and audits. Partner with Purchasing, Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure materials are received on time and support customer delivery requirements. Utilize company vehicles for local deliveries and pick up materials from suppliers. This role supports the development of systems for human-rated space stations at Vast's Long Beach location. The position requires a high school diploma and 2+ years of logistics experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
- HighSchool or equivalent diploma
- 2+ years of logistics, shipping/receiving, or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to travel up to 15-20% of the time
- Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestones
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted
- Specific certifications, as appropriate
- Must either be a 'U.S. person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Hazardous materials shipping certification (49 CFR, IATA, IMDG)
- Experience with aerospace or defense manufacturing
- Working knowledge of ITAR/EAR export compliance
- APICS (ASCM) or CSCMP certification
- Import/Export experience with ITAR and C-TPAT regulations
- Import/Export regulatory functions experience, including HTS, Schedule B knowledge, Incoterms, ISF filing process, DSP-5, DSP-73, ATA Carnet
- Experience working with NVOs, ocean carriers, drayage companies, freight forwarders, and customs house brokerage firms
- Familiar with FAR Part 45 and handling of Government Furnished Materials
- Experience using barcode scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory control software
- Experience operating forklifts, Stand-Up Reach, pallet jack and all associated dock equipment
