Job Summary

Manage asset utilization and drivers to ensure high delivery of customer service and fleet profitability. Build and match planned freight to day cabs or condo trucks, reviewing PTAs and driver requests for time off to schedule work and assign tasks. Coordinate with maintenance on trucks out of service and track drivers, loads, and receivers to maintain dispatch continuity. Monitor Hours of Service for compliance, handle urgent situations involving traffic or weather, and assist in orienting new drivers to fleet expectations. Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00pm. Salary: $25.00-$28.00.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior logistical or planning experience
  • Transportation regulations knowledge
  • Strong geographical knowledge with expertise in time and distance requirements
  • Ability to work with office equipment, utilizing computers for majority of tasks
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Proficiency with Excel and other reporting capabilities
  • Excellent inter-personal skills with drivers, other personnel, customers, and management
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Capability to hear, with or without correction, sufficiently to perceive normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Capability to work extended hours, to include weekends, holidays and various shifts (to include evening and night shifts) as necessary
  • Capability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time and work with computer equipment
  • Capability to speak, writing, and read English well and possess a good command of the language
  • Capability to have visual acuity, with or without correction, sufficient to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer terminal, and read extensively
  • Ability to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and/or delays
  • Ability to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances
  • Ability to handle incoming requests for assistance via phone and in person while working on other tasks
  • Ability to remain professional in light of challenging situations that may occur in the location
  • Capability to lift, carry and move objects that can weigh up to 25 pounds
