Job Summary
Manage shipments from tender through final delivery, including booking, tracking, and issue resolution for flatbed and open-deck freight. Source and secure capacity by negotiating rates with carriers and building a network of reliable partners across key regions. Prospect and develop relationships with shippers requiring specialized capacity to grow revenue and lane density. Serve as the primary point of contact for both customers and carriers, ensuring transparent communication and proactive resolution of transit issues. Balance service expectations with profitability while monitoring performance trends to improve results.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation
- Proven ability to prospect and develop customer relationships
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High level of ownership and accountability from booking through delivery
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with flatbed, open-deck, or specialized freight preferred
- Established network of flatbed carriers or shipper relationships
- Strong understanding of flatbed equipment types (step deck, RGN, conestoga, etc.)
- Experience working in a cradle-to-grave brokerage model
- Familiarity with TMS platforms and freight visibility tools
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on growth and results
