Job Summary
Coordinate dispatch duties and assign drivers to available loads while communicating and solving problems with staff and drivers. Move and deliver vehicles for service and detail, ensuring all driver documents are complete, accurate, and imaged. Assist with payment and loading of driver funds, confirm delivery points, and provide phone coverage for route calls. Complete and update order system work assignments efficiently while implementing departmental checklists. Maintain a professional work environment by making safety an everyday priority and fostering a team-oriented culture. This role requires driving approximately 60% of the time, including extended periods, and involves a high level of activity with strong attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job
- Strong logistic and geographic skill set
- Minimum 5 years' experience with Windows computer system and Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Proven ability to succeed in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Strong knowledge of customer service delivery techniques and problem-solving methods
- Accurate typing skills
- Knowledge of queries, sorting and other database related skills
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Must be able to drive (approximately 60%)
- Must be able to sustain a high level of activity, prioritize and perform a variety of tasks
- Self-motivated with a strong desire for task completion and follow-up
- Sharp attention to detail and accuracy; excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate with drivers and customers in an enthusiastic and professional manner
- Excellent customer service: both written and verbal
- Possess personal drive and internal motivation toward higher achievement
