Logistics Area Manager

Job Summary
Manage, plan, and control operating personnel, mobile equipment, and product flow across manufacturing assets and between plants in Canton, Ohio. Oversee shipping operations, warehousing, and the repair maintainers for semi tractors, trailers, and straddle carriers while adhering to capital and expense plans. Lead the department to ensure alignment with logistics direction, develop training plans for new associates, and launch safety and environmental improvement plans. Execute proactive responses to safety concerns, incorporate new technology, and maintain certifications for hazardous material hauling. Prioritize orders to ensure on-time delivery and assure compliance with scheduled shipments via truck and rail.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in logistics or manufacturing
- Relocation will not be provided for this role
- Follows ODOT, Commercial Driver's License regulations
- Maintains certifications for hazardous material hauling
- L6, DMAIC, DMADV Process Methodologies
- Familiarity with multiple Customer Applications—practical problem solving experience working with front end sales, technical services, advanced engineering, Quality Assurance and other areas of manufacturing
- Deep technical knowledge of thermal treatment metallurgy, processing methods and material responsiveness through treatment processes
- Familiarity with upstream melt/refining processes and chemistry formulation for impact on material responsiveness through thermal treatment
- Familiarity with treatment and special finishing cost structure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills
- Excellent project management skills including budgeting, time management, collaboration and motivation
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business or a related technical field with a minimum of 9 years of experience in logistics or manufacturing
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related technical field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics or manufacturing
