Job Summary
Supervise daily campus custodial operations, manage inventory of equipment and supplies, and coordinate work orders for cleaning, furniture moves, and special event setups. Monitor service quality through visual inspections, investigate complaints, and oversee staff training on safety procedures and equipment use. Serve as the liaison to the night cleaning vendor to align schedules with academic and athletic needs, while managing mail delivery and assisting with operational budgets. Provide custodial support during emergency situations and collaborate with Facilities Management to ensure efficient, safe, and sustainable campus environments.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Custodial Services, including direct supervision of staff and program development
- Demonstrated working knowledge, skills and expertise in Custodial Services and Systems
- Demonstrated working knowledge of set-ups and special events planning implementation
- Demonstrated initiative in the development and implementation of Custodial Service and management procedures, programs and strategies
- Knowledge of green custodial principles and floor care equipment
- Excellent reading, writing and comprehension skills and the ability to develop and maintain accurate records
- Excellent verbal communication and listening skills with high attention to clarity and detail with ability to explain complex information/fact patterns in understandable terms to all levels of personnel
- Working knowledge of cloud-based systems, word processing and spreadsheet software and Windows platform
- Ability to work under pressure within a fast-paced environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- A valid Virginia driver's license and the ability to meet Collegiate School's driving criteria
- Manual coordination including finger dexterity, eye/hand/foot coordination, able to distinguish between colors, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, depth perception and hearing
- Must be able to walk the campuses regularly, lift, lower, carry, push and pull objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to stand, climb, bend, stoop and crouch for extended periods of time
- May be subjected to extreme heat and cold temperatures
- Will be subjected to motor and/or machine noise
