Job Summary
Coordinate drivers, trucks, and containers to create capacity, maximize productivity, and ensure prompt service. Analyze daily route information to implement changes that improve efficiency, accuracy, and standardization using the internal routing platform. Monitor transit issues to quickly resolve problems and evaluate driver performance for resolution. Collect and interpret logistics data on inventory and asset reliability to increase routing accuracy. Communicate proactively with drivers to evaluate progress and ensure they have necessary information. Respond to missed pickups by scheduling customers and developing strategies to avoid future failures. Monitor daily routing activities to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries while assessing needs for swing routes. Evaluate disposal plans to identify optimal sites and hold drivers accountable to assigned locations. Meet with the Operations Manager to discuss disposal plans and update service requests to drive efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Skillful with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Ability to understand and execute time-sensitive tasks
- Experience in a customer-facing position
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of prior experience working in a Dispatcher or similar leadership role
