Job Summary
Strategic leadership of multimodal transportation networks (rail and ocean) across domestic and international markets; manage an annual logistics spend of $50M–$150M; own end-to-end RFP-to-pay lifecycle; drive cost reduction through carrier negotiations, routing optimization, and contract structuring; develop and monitor KPIs (cost per ton/mile, demurrage/detention, total landed cost); oversee accounts payable workflows and freight audit processes; leverage TMS/ERP tools for automation and visibility; build and maintain relationships with rail carriers and ocean carriers/NVOCCs; collaborate with procurement, finance, warehousing, and customer service to ensure seamless intermodal movements and regulatory compliance; provide executive reporting on logistics spend, service levels, and strategic initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field
- 7–12+ years of experience in logistics, with a strong focus on rail and ocean transportation
- Proven experience managing $50M–$150M in transportation spend
- Deep understanding of intermodal networks, rail operations, ocean freight, and port logistics
