Job Summary
Manage tariff management for Section 301 and reciprocal tariffs, oversee C-TPAT trade compliance and security, and handle export compliance. Communicate with internal and external parties, including CBP and customs brokers, while researching and implementing cost savings activities. Monitor audit activities, assist customs operations, and administer functions such as presentations, budgeting, and reporting. Leverage expertise in Drawback, Foreign Trade Zones, and BIS/OFAC regulations to provide creative solutions and develop policies. Work independently with peer-level employees across Canon, potentially mentoring staff and contributing to annual objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 7 years of related experience
- Customs Broker License
- Experience with Drawback
- Experience with Foreign Trade Zones
- Experience with First Sales
- Knowledge of BIS regulations
- Knowledge of OFAC regulations
- Experience with Customs Operations
- Experience with ACH
- Strong written communication skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Tariff Management experience involving Section 301, Reciprocal Tariffs, and all other related tariffs
- C-TPAT Trade Compliance experience
- C-TPAT Security experience
- Export Compliance experience
- Experience communicating with internal and external parties including CBP and Customs Brokers
- Experience researching and implementing Cost Savings Activities
- Experience implementing and monitoring audit activities
- Experience assisting Customs Operations
- Experience with Administration functions including presentations, planning, budget, and reports
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to interact with peer-level employees across Canon
- Ability to provide input into establishing annual objectives for the function
- Ability to mentor less experienced professional staff
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Residency in the United States at the time of hire
