Job Summary
Provide academic tutoring to students in small group or one-on-one sessions to enhance their education and support learning objectives. Deliver appropriate learning materials, assess student progress, and adjust instructional methods as necessary. Offer adult supports, activities, and sessions while maintaining accurate records and providing data to personnel. Adhere to SBDM and McCracken County Public School Board policies, professional ethics, and health and safety regulations. Maintain regular attendance and a professional appearance. Requires a valid Kentucky teaching certificate.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Kentucky teaching certificate
- KY Teaching Certificate
- Basic instructional methods and techniques
- Basic learning theory applicable to the student group served
- Knowledge of students with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds
- Knowledge of basic subjects taught in District schools including arithmetic, reading, writing, grammar, and spelling
- Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary
- Knowledge of classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct
- Knowledge of policies and objectives of assigned program and activities
- Knowledge of applicable sections of Kentucky Administrative Regulations and other applicable laws
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to provide instruction working with children with special needs, multi-cultural and multi-ethnic backgrounds
- Ability to monitor and evaluate student progress
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Ability to maintain routine records
- Ability to read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain current knowledge of program rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions
- Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
- Ability to plan and organize work
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance
- Maintain a professional and appropriate appearance
- Adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics
- Treat all individuals with fairness, dignity, and respect
- Adhere to SBDM and McCracken County Public School Board policies and procedures
