Job Summary
Locums Anesthesiologist needed in Mission District, CA to provide hospital OR coverage with general and regional anesthesia cases. Requires CA medical license and board certification, with recent (2+ years) experience in a mix of outpatient and inpatient surgical cases. Regional anesthesia strongly preferred; candidates must be able to work solo in the operating room and float between facility sites. EPIC EMR experience, BLS/ACLS certifications, and CA DEA are required. Schedule offers flexibility, with 40+ hours per week and a minimum of two weeks per month commitment. Traumatic and high-acuity case experience is preferred; fellowship-trained or CRNA-collaborative practice is a plus. Credentialing typically takes 60-90 days, and a referral bonus is noted for successful referrals.
Required Qualifications
- CA license required
- Board Certification required
- At least 2 years anesthesiology experience
- Recent experience in tertiary care centers
- Experience with regional anesthesia preferred but not required
- Experience working solo in the operating room
- DE A license (CA) with Schedule 2/2n
- BLS, ACLS – must be AHA
- Credentialing timeframe 60-90 days
- EPIC EMR experience
- Adult and adolescent patient population (13yo+)
- Ability to float between multiple facilities and sites
- Strong trauma experience preferred
- Must be able to do at least 2 weeks per month (full-time coverage)
- Must be able to cover OR independently (mostly solo)
- Strong communication and coordination with CRNAs
- No fixed shifts; flexible schedule
