Job Summary
Provide physician assistant support in cardiovascular/cardiothoracic surgery, assisting in CABG and open-heart procedures, valve repair/replacement, and vein harvesting (EVH) with demonstrated independent ability. Responsibilities include SFA exposure, sternotomy closure, chest tube placement, arterial/venous access (central venous lines), critical care management in the CV ICU, and comprehensive pre-/post-operative care. Operates with Cerner EMR; ability to work in inpatient settings and manage postoperative and perioperative care for cardiac surgery patients.
Required Qualifications
- Physician Assistant credentialing as applicable
- Experience with cardiovascular/cardiothoracic procedures preferred
- Demonstrated independent ability in EVH/vein harvesting
- Sternal/ sternotomy support and chest-tube management
- Critical care and CV ICU exposure
- Pre-/post-operative care in cardiac surgery settings
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
