Job Summary
Handle, restrain, and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery while assisting the veterinarian before, during, and after procedures. Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction, provide nursing care and monitoring for emergency and critical care patients, and perform ongoing triage assessment to manage multiple priorities. Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples, perform laboratory tests, and provide wound and bandage care. Counsel clients on animal health care and help mentor visiting practicum students and peers. Shifts are 8-10 hours, with compensation of $30–50/hr based on experience.
