Job Summary
Locum physicians are sought to provide coverage in the Emergency Department of Digby General Hospital during a period of active recruitment. Key responsibilities include examining patients, ordering diagnostic tests, advising on health care and disease prevention, consulting with other medical practitioners, acting as a patient advocate, and prescribing and administering treatments. Candidates must possess various certifications in emergency medicine, be eligible for licensure and certification with respective medical boards, and demonstrate experience in an emergency department setting.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- Care of the Critically Ill Surgical Patient (CCrISP)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Desired Qualifications
- College of Family Physicians of Canada Emergency Medicine certification
- Emergency department experience
Additional Requirements
