Locum Dentist

Locum Dentist needed to provide comprehensive dental services to residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorder, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and similar disabilities. Travel between Florence and Hartsville locations. Oversee provision of dental services under limited supervision of Facility Administrator. Perform examinations, prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and minor surgical interventions as appropriate. Manage administrative tasks to maintain a comprehensive dental services operation; develop and maintain scheduling; supervise and provide management support for all dental department staff; promote ongoing dental prophylaxis programs; educate residents on oral hygiene; order dental equipment and ensure compliance with radiology, autoclave, and nitrous oxide DP H requirements. Minimum requirements: graduate of an accredited dental school; valid SC dental license; dental experience. Preferred: knowledge of dentistry theory and practices, current laws/regulations, proficiency in operative, crown and bridge, prosthetics, and periodontics; ability to apply improved techniques; effective communication.
