Job Summary
Assist in two-year job rotation as Location Control Manager and Business Control Manager to support multiple Lines of Businesses in the Commercial and Investment Bank. Monitor control environment in Japan, identify and address control issues, present operational risks to management and governance committees, support regulatory-required control processes, escalate timely issues through governance, coordinate across Lines of Businesses, Compliance, and Audit to form a comprehensive view on operational risk controls, and drive continuous improvement using data analysis and benchmarking. Strong emphasis on collaboration with Front Office, Control Managers, Operations, Technology, and regulatory/market-facing teams; requires knowledge of local/global regulatory environments, proficiency in Excel, and bilingual English/Japanese communication. Preferred knowledge includes automation tools such as Tableau and Alteryx.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other related discipline
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in financial industry roles such as Operational Risk Control, Operations, Business Management, Front Office, Compliance, Audit, or Consulting
- Proficient user of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Japanese
- Team player with good partnering and influencing skills
