Job Summary
Locate and accurately mark all underground i3 Broadband fiber-optic utilities by thoroughly searching designated areas, identifying cable and conduit paths, and photographing each locate to upload to internal systems. Review locate requests to prioritize work and establish efficient daily schedules, then document and close all work orders on a company laptop while maintaining the vehicle in clean condition. Communicate professionally with utility managers, crews, staff, homeowners, and contractors to resolve locate issues. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow, while maintaining a positive attitude and high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be computer proficient
- Positive, can-do attitude
- Willingness and desire to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality results
- Good time management skills
- Must enjoy working outside
- Willing to train, accept feedback, and learn the job according to i3 standards
- Must be available to work occasional overtime and some nights and weekends (as needed)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have a clean driving record and the ability to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to work outdoors, and in all weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Must be able to walk long distances, bend, and lift up to 75 pounds
