Job Summary
Entry-level Locate Technician responsible for locating underground utilities, reading maps and blueprints, and marking ground with paint and flags. Yard-to-field training provided; use locate equipment and provided vehicle with fuel card, and document tickets via laptop. Must enjoy outdoor work in all weather, work independently, and solve problems quickly and accurately. Responsibilities include using maps and blueprints to determine locating sequence, communicating with peers/managers/homeowners, and complying with safety practices. Schedule is flexible with possible evenings/weekends and on-call rotations; company provides PTO, paid holidays, safety shoe vouchers, 401(k) with match, and a company-provided vehicle for home use. Qualifications include 18+ years old, HS diploma or equivalent, valid driver license with acceptable record, ability to walk 5 miles several times per week, ability to carry up to 5 lbs of equipment and lift up to 25 lbs (75+ lbs with aids), and passing background and drug screening.
Required Qualifications
- Eighteen years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day 2-3 times a week
- Ability to carry up to 5 lbs of electronic locating equipment for extended periods of time; lifting objects up to 25 lbs or lifting in excess of 75 lbs with tool aids
- Pass pre-employment background and drug screening
